Selling clothes is a tricky business. The best way to go around it is try to sell only new-with-tag items or very lightly worn, but name-brand and originally pricy items (prom dresses, dkny jeans, etc). Don't try to sell that old t-shirt from Old Navy that's been worn in and stretched out.
*If you decide to sell clothes on EBay, sell shirts that aren't new in bulk. Six pairs of jeans, all of the same size for a bargain price or a lot of juniors t-shirts from Express.
*If you are trying to sell cheaper brands like Old Navy or Mossimo, mix them in with a lot that has higher priced brands like Abercrombie, Hollister, Lacoste, or Guess. Buyers are interested in the name brand and pricy things. This is a clever way to sneak in some other pieces.
*Another option is if you are selling something pricy like a Hugo Boss suit, add that it includes a free bonus, a lightly used white button down by Arizona. It is an easy way to get rid of the extra shirt and buyers feel like they are getting a deal even if you only paid $5 for it.
*The best way to get a few bucks for your clothes is through consignment shops. Make sure there are no holes or loose stitches and they will most likely take it in.
*Check craigslist for families who are requesting old, gently used children's clothes and are willing to give a small fee. You might even find congsignment shops advertising on the site.
*If worst comes to worst, donate the worn in pieces.
